Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using FaceIt ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.

Description of Service

FaceIt is a mobile application that helps users orient themselves to face any location on Earth using real-time compass guidance. The app uses your device's sensors and location services to calculate the direction (bearing) to a selected destination.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use FaceIt only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

• Use the app for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the app or its servers
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the app
• Use the app in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the service
• Use automated systems or software to extract data from the app

Intended Use

FaceIt IS intended for:

• General orientation and curiosity
• Educational purposes
• Casual exploration and learning

Accuracy Limitations

The accuracy of FaceIt depends on several factors:

• Device sensors: Magnetometer calibration and quality vary by device
• Magnetic interference: Metal objects, electronics, and buildings can affect compass accuracy
• GPS accuracy: Location accuracy depends on satellite visibility and device capabilities
• Geocoding: Location search results are provided by third-party services and may not be exact

We do not guarantee the accuracy of bearings, distances, or location data provided by the app.

Environmental Factors

Compass functionality may be affected by:

• Magnetic interference from nearby electronics or metal structures
• Solar activity and geomagnetic storms
• Indoor environments with steel framing
• Proximity to power lines or electrical equipment

Intellectual Property

Our Rights

FaceIt and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by FaceIt and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The app name "FaceIt", its logo, and visual design elements are our trademarks.

Third-Party Content

FaceIt uses the following third-party services:

• Google Maps API: Subject to Google's Terms of Service
• Firebase: Subject to Google Firebase Terms of Service
• React Native: Open source under MIT License

Your Content

Any custom labels you create for favorite locations remain your property. By using the app, you grant us no rights to your personal data beyond what is necessary to provide the service.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• FaceIt is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind
• We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app (which is $0 for the free version)

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless FaceIt and its creators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

Updates and Modifications

App Updates

We may update the app from time to time to fix bugs, improve performance, add new features, or comply with platform requirements. You are responsible for keeping the app updated.

Terms Updates

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted within the app or on our website. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Termination

You may stop using FaceIt at any time by uninstalling the app. We reserve the right to discontinue the app at any time without notice, modify or remove features without notice, or terminate access to the app for any user who violates these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the app creator resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and FaceIt regarding use of the app.
